We have cattle and a donkey but we still have snakes -- our rock walls and woodpiles provide lots of hiding places for rodents . . . and thence, snakes.Vicki Lanehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08114677510459055768noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-183122592570097282.post-62711514661858145392010-06-01T15:15:50.326-07:002010-06-01T15:15:50.326-07:00I have horses on my property and seldom see a snak...I have horses on my property and seldom see a snake. It's been years. I've been told that the vibrations of the horses hoves on the earth keep snakes away. ???

DelnoraDelnoranoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-183122592570097282.post-2874204897501211562010-06-01T11:17:50.060-07:002010-06-01T11:17:50.060-07:00Hey, Sheila -- Oh, indeed! But at its root, doesn't it just mean 'maker'? Still, it sounds so high-faluting to say 'I am an Artist.' But I can easily say that you, Deana, are indeed, and artist!

Snakes -- the two on the rock are both Northern Water snakes -- one immature. Yes, the one is marked like a copperhead but it's not.

There's another picture of a garter snake - long lines running the length of his body.

Anonymous -- snakes show up where there's something for them to eat -- like rats or mice (or goldfish, in the case of our water snakes.) You must not have enough mice or such to support a snake in the style to which he would like to become accustomed.Vicki Lanehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08114677510459055768noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-183122592570097282.post-31282525586303435862010-06-01T07:28:27.734-07:002010-06-01T07:28:27.734-07:00I think you have a beautiful home. I used to have them here, but for some reason, they have disappeared. The only snake I have seen in the last 3 years was a black rat snake who was only passing thru. What makes snakes go away like that, do you know?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-183122592570097282.post-75486564672105179042010-06-01T05:50:40.076-07:002010-06-01T05:50:40.076-07:00PS What's the story of the the photo of the bl...PS What's the story of the the photo of the blacksnake and the rattler, it that is indeed what they are?

D the QAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-183122592570097282.post-15172412344125988302010-06-01T05:47:50.652-07:002010-06-01T05:47:50.652-07:00I saw that you enjoyed a bottle of Prosecco.
